Dr. Oyelola Matesun became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons in England and Ireland in 1993. She practiced her medical profession within and outside the country until 1999 when she had a major shift her career. In 1999 Dr. Lola began her career in IT, satellite communication with emphasis on broadcast engineering.
During this time Dr. Lola pioneered several satellite stations in Nigeria and created signal distribution networks for carrying live data across wide area networks. In 2005 Dr. Lola worked with a team that pioneered propriety software development and internet technologies for media in Nigeria. In 2010, Dr. Lola pioneered a company that provides value added services like data analytics for the telcos. As a director and pioneer of several indigenous companies with international partners her experience covers areas such as research and development of new products and bespoke solutions, Sourcing for projects funding and sustainability, Marketing, Contracting, Business Support functions, team building and human capital development, Strategy Development and Execution, Planning and Reporting.
Dr. Lola is involved in several rural medical outreaches especially to the elderly in Ile Ife and Ilesha Osun State Nigeria. Dr. Lola is actively involved in Tek for Nigeria an NGO that operates majorly in schools and LGAs in Lagos State to provide digital and web programming skills for teenagers and young people beneath age 25. With 28 years of working experience, in medicine, media, satellite engineering and support services for telecommunications industry and still counting.
